From the stop light at McDonalds, go left on Hwy 24/27 2.8 miles. Turn left onto Running Creek Church Road before you pass the water tower on the left. Go through the intersection and Running Creek is on your left.
From Albemarle: Go west on Hwy. 24/27 through stop light at Red Cross. Go approximately .9 miles to Bethel Church Rd. on your right. Go less than a mile to your second road on the right, Running Creek Church Rd. Turn right and the school is immediately on your left.

Our History
Running Creek School opened in August, 2002 in Western Stanly County as a K-8 school. Students were selected by redistricting Western Stanly County schools and students came from 5 elementary schools. Contracts were signed for Running Creek on January 29, 2001. The school opened with 352 students. The staff and students buried a time capsule soon after school began.
Running Creek adopted the Cougar as their mascot, with teal, black and white as their school colors.
